Short-term clinical studies provide important insights into treatment safety and effectiveness, but long-term real-world data are essential for understanding how a therapy performs in everyday clinical practice. Research Podcast #4 presents Syqe’s 2022 PAIN Reports study, which evaluated the long-term effectiveness and safety of medical cannabis administered via the metered-dose SyqeAir Inhaler.
The study retrospectively analyzed real-world data collected from patients treated with SyqeAir under routine conditions. Pain intensity was assessed at baseline and during follow-up over a 120-day period, while adverse events were monitored for a longer duration. The analysis included patients primarily treated for chronic neuropathic pain and examined pain outcomes, quality-of-life changes, and safety using measured Δ9-THC as a dosing marker for full-spectrum medical cannabis.
